Bickleton, Washington ... a hunter's paradise and an outdoor enthusiasts dream with lots of land, land, and more land to roam on, hunt on, bike or hike on, or do just about anything you want on...with nothing but the sounds of bluebirds whistling in the background. Located approximately 3 hours East of Ptld, OR / Vancouver, WA and approximately 2 hours West of the Tri-Cities, it's diverse landscape (lots of trees and range land), combined with many seasonal creeks, make it a 4 legged critter's haven.
Land and hunting property in Bickleton is, for the most part, very inexpensive. Generally, 20 acre parcels are available. Sometimes these 20 acre parcels back up against other State land, making awesome hunting opportunities! In fact, section 16, located at the end of Pine Creek Rd, is a whole section (640 acres) of DNR land, usually available for hunting each year. (Please check with the State each year to keep apprised of current rules and regulations). On average, 20 acre parcels sell for around $1250 - $2500 an acre, depending on location, access, and utilities. Access is sometimes very limited in the winter months as most roads are still primitive and unimproved throughout most of Bickleton. Combine this primitive road condition with the high elevation of Bickleton and it's ensuing annual snow/precipation, and you have some mushy, muddy roads ... or ...some great 4x4'ing depending on how you want to look at it! Suffice it to say, for the most part, access to Bickleton land is much better and more dependable in the drier months (late Spring through late Fall).

Other interesting facts and websites about Bickleton: Bickleton's total population consists of approximately 90 people (most of which are farmers). Bickleton is so small, that you'd better make sure and bring some extra gas for your rig when you come, as there is no gas station in town! (I am not kidding) Another interesting fact is that at 3020 ft elevation, Bickleton is ranked the 2nd highest city in elevation of any city in the State of WA. Bickleton is now also known for its many wind farms, helping to generate "green" power. Just one of the many wind generation projects is called 'White Creek', which was in part, facilitated by the Klickitat PUD. Click on the link for more information on White Creek. Also, Bickleton is referred to as the 'Bluebird Capital of the World' based on the abundant blue bird population that resides most of the year in Bickleton.
